Hosonsoft 4 Head Board

This Hoson carriage board mounts on the moving carriage directly behind the printheads. It receives print data from the mainboard and converts it into the firing signals that drive each nozzle, while carrying power and temperature monitoring for the heads.

Built for printers running four Epson i3200 printheads.

Symptoms of a failing carriage board

• One printhead stops firing while the others continue printing
• Whole colour channels missing despite full ink and clean nozzles
• Repeated nozzle deflection that cleaning cycles do not resolve
• Garbled or scrambled print data on one head
• Printer reports a head communication or carriage board error
• Intermittent faults that worsen as the machine warms up

If a nozzle check shows one head completely dead while the others are clean, the carriage board is a more likely cause than the printhead — and considerably cheaper to replace.

Before you order

Confirm your printer is a 4 head model running Epson i3200 printheads. The 2 head version uses a different board — see our Hosonsoft 2 Head Board. Compare your existing board against the product photo before ordering, as Hoson board revisions vary between production runs.

Installation

Power down and unplug the printer completely. Handle only by the edges with an anti-static strap. Note the orientation of every ribbon cable before disconnecting and make sure each is fully seated and latched on reassembly — a partially seated ribbon is the most common cause of a replacement board appearing faulty. Run a nozzle check before production work.
