KodaColor Cleaning Solution

A strong solvent cleaner for removing congealed ink from printer parts — wiper blades, capping station and the outside surfaces of printheads. It can also be used to recover clogged nozzles.

Which solution do you need?

This is the aggressive one. Two alternatives, depending on the job:

• KodaColor Flushing Solution — a mild solvent, for separating inks or preparing a printer for storage
• Super Blue Clog Buster — a 100ml spot treatment for a single stubborn clog

Minor clogs

Soak the printhead in place on the carriage. Place a well-soaked, lint-free cloth under the printhead for up to 24 hours.

Major clogs

Used to bathe a printhead that has been removed from the printer.

1. Clean the outside of the printhead completely.
2. Soak the printhead faceplate only in a cleaning solution bath.
3. Perform a reverse waterfall to draw the solution into the head.
4. Let it sit, then repeat as necessary.
5. Push solution into the manifold to waterfall the head, then check for clear nozzles.

Do not soak for longer than 24 hours unless the head is otherwise considered unrecoverable — at that point it is a last resort.

Cleaning the ink train

Cleaning solution can be used on the entire ink train when loaded into ink cartridges. Power clean every few hours across an 8-hour period, then reinstall ink or flushing solution.

Do not leave cleaning solution in the ink train for longer than 24 hours.
